Permanent socket on the Aux Load...?

I'm trying to get my head around the aux load. My 3.6kW inverter is in a location that's not near a 13amp plug and I have a Raspberry Pi I want to plug in near the inverter to run Solar Assistant.

I saw in the docs there's an Aux Load with the option "On grid always on". Am I being really thick or does that mean if I enable that option then that Aux Load will always be on when the grid is connected?

If so, could I just wire a normal socket with a 3a fuse to the aux load and plug the 5v DC Adapter into that plug?

I could also just run a spur from a nearby socket, but it'll be a pain in the butt to route it so looking for an easier option first.

I would run it to small garage board with 32A or 40A RCD and small 13A breaker (or something sensible) to a socket.

That way you have everything protected as needed, and you have a protected backup power socket (surprisingly convenient and worth the extra £40 that it will cost to do it this way)
