SOC plummeted last night

Woke up this morning and the inverter is drawing a lot of power from the municipality.

WTF happened to my battery?

Went from 80% to 2% before 5am? No increased load.

System is 3 months old. Sunsynk battery and inverter.

Only 1 battery.

Most BMS's will force the SOC to 0 when a cell hits the low voltage threshold or low pack voltage threshold and it will only get set to 100% when a cell hits the high voltage threshold of the pack hits the high voltage threshold. Some will work with both cell and pack voltages and others will only use one or the other. It is not uncommon for BMS's never to show 100% because the BMS thresholds are not met.

Many BMS's will start balancing when the cell voltages reach a specific voltage level even while the battery is charging, others will continue balancing even when the charge mosfets have turned off after the maximum charge voltage has been reached. It has been shown that the former method will eventually unbalance the battery cells.

I do not know what BMS is used in your battery.

In any event you should try to charge the battery regularly to maximum SOC (be it only 99%)
