Battery charging time from grid,5kw inverter & 15kwh batteries

I'm getting conflicting info from different companies on this, will a 5kw sunsynk inverter fully charge three discharged sunsynk 5.12kwh batteries from the grid in the three hours of cheap rate.

The charging output of the inverter is 5kw but the C-rating of the batteries is only 0.5 meaning that each battery can only charge at max of 2.5kw per hour,

I have one company telling me it will take 6 hours to fully charge i.e one battery at a time at 2 hrs and one telling me that it will be done in 3 hours as the 5kw inverter output will be split across the three batteries i.e only 1.67kw per hr

Any help would be gratefully received so I can get moving on the

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.

Hmmmm, OK I am going to think on this. My first thought, like you have indicated, is to challenge 'what' exactly does the MCS certificate prove.... and indeed, why they can refuse micro-gen into the GRID without it - espoecially as my installation like yours has had a DNO onsite inspection & approval!

BUT

As I am on GO I cannot have the night rate AND feed back in to the GRID as well, so for now I am happy that the night rate for battery charging in the winter is more valuable than the excess I am losing in the summer. Maybe....

I will do some numbers this year but it's an open question as my battery is full today from 35% to 100% in only 5 hours so all the afternoon sun wil be wasted [quite possibly 15kW in one day lost power].
