Battery Charge Rate

Is this correct?

Basically battery charging and essentials share the pass through limit of 8-9kw on the 5k inverter.

After a little experimentation I can add 7kw to none essentials and it will keep charging the battery at 4kw, drawing 10kw from the grid. Pic 1

However if I moved 5kw from none essentials to essentials, the battery charging dropped to 2.8kw and the maximum being shown as pulled from the grid was 8ish. Pic 2

Eventually it went further pic 3. In this I think I reduced none essentials by another 2kw, but left 5kw on essentials

So effectively it controls the amount coming in from the grid (for the whole house including none essentials) to the 8k limit by reducing the battery charging rate.

I think that is wrong. It should be able to run essentials and charge the battery up to 8kw but still still allow up to 12kw on none essentials without reducing battery charge rate

I guess I need to see what happens if I have the load on both essentials and none essentials, it can't control none essentials pulling whatever they need so at some point reducing battery charging won't stop it exceeding 8kw from the grid

The 2 x battery will charge at 4kw until you add additional load to the essentials circuit and then it reduces the battery charge rate to keep it below the pass through limit.

I was getting paid to use electric on the Agile tariff so I loaded up the essential and none essential circuits. However as I added load it scaled back the battery charging from 4kw to 1kw to keep the total draw from the grid under 8kw

I added 5kw to none essentials and 2kw to essentials and battery charging fell to 1kw for no obvious reason
