Wind turbine on 8k Ecco
I want to share a discovery in case it comes up for anyone else using a wind turbine. System 2x 8k ECCO inverters in parallel & 5x SS CATL batteries. 12k solar and 2kw rated turbine with external controller & dump load . Turbine was on Slave inverter, using MPPT 1 with 'DC1 wind turbine' selected.
All worked perfectly during daylight on the first 2 days from commissioning turbine.
After sunset when the solar PV went off, turbine DC voltage would slowly rise to the maximum of 380v and would sit around there either until the wind stopped, or became too powerful and turbine would self protect and brake, or the sun came up again and all worked fine alongside solar PV.
Only solution that worked was to put turbine on the Master inverter, MPPT 1. Now works perfectly.
Hi, did you source the turbine from a local distributor (contact details please!!) or directly from China? . How is the system performing now, and have been able to get support on the turbine or has there been Grief (geddit? 🤣) . I am thinking about a small turbine to act as a sort of 'trickle charge' input (no solar) to my battery system with 5kW hybrid inverter charging on GO.
