Power Flow App in relation to Auxiliary Load used for Micro Inverter Input
I have a question, here is the background:
I've got two plants, one which is SunSynk and one which is Solis, the Solis inverter is in a shed and is wired into its own breaker in my consumer unit. The installer told me if I select "Micro Inverter Input" on the Auxiliary Load it will take the solar generated from the second plant and use it to charge the battery in the house.
While this IS true, the second plant no longer exports electricity unless the battery is fully charged, in the Power Flow chart, the micro inverter input always shows as 5W, even during the night or when the 2nd plant is generating 1.6kW.
Now, I know that physically wiring in the second plant to my SunSynk inverter Aux Load will most likely sort this, it will also limit the power to the max total power of that single inverter.
The question is, is there another way to get an accurate reading from the Micro Inverter Input on the Power Flow ?
What you are seeing is correct. The power value shown for the Micro Inverter connection is not the actual power supplied to the SS by the inverter connected to the Aux connection set as a "Micro Inverter Input"
I have a similar setup I use for testing, except I am using a SMA SunnyBoy 5000 Grid-tied inverter with 6kW of PV. The SS inverter is a 8kW inverter with only about 3kW of PV panels.
While the power flow does not show the power from the Aux/microgrid connection. the energy generation graph can show the total excess power power exported to the grid (as seen by the external CTs)
You will also notice that the LCD panel will report some interesting power value on the UPS connection. Why, I do not know. The value does not make a lot of sense. I am not sure what I would see if I had load connected to the Load port.
I just rely on it to show me that I am there is power being being seen coming from the SMA Sunnyboy. If still have to monitor the SMA Sunnyboy to see what it is actually producing.
