PV No longer supporting either Essential or non essential loads when Grid is present

I have been monitoring a clients system while he has been away and something strange seemed to happen at about 08h35 on Xmas morning SA time. The PV system no longer supported the Essential Loads or Non Essential Loads while the Grid is present.

I have checked and rechecked the settings and configuration of the system and no matter what I change I am not able to resolve the problem. The PV System charges the Battery, and the Grid charges the battery as per the timers that are set.

As can be seen on the graph from the 2nd Jan, PV starts Charging the Battery at about 5h45 from a SOC of 88% back to 100% at 08h10, the PV then drops off and the load is at 320W and the grid supports this load of 320W. During mid-morning the load increases to 4.37kW and the Grid supplies the 4.37kW. At 11h10 the PV is 0, the Batt SOC is 100% and the load is 4.31kW and the Grid supplies 4.4kW. At 11h15 the Battery is still at 100%, the PV peaks to 840W the load drops to 300W and the Grid supplies 150W. At 11h25 the Batt is 100% SOC the PV is 100W and the Load and Grid at 300W. At 11h35 the Load peaks to 1.15kW and the Grid supplies 1.15kW. So clearly the PV not supporting the load.

At 18h00 the PV is 100W, Batt is 98%SOC Load is 640W and grid supplies 640W. At 18h05 load shedding kicks in, PV increases to 250W ( bearing in mind that it is 18h05) Batt SOC is 97% load is 590W. Then at 18h10 the PV drops to 210W Batt SOC is 96% and the load remains at 590W. Load shedding continues and the load is supported buy the battery. At 20h05 PV is 0 Batt SOC is 73% and the load is 720W. At 20h10 load shedding has ended PV is 0, Batt SOC is 76% load is at 630W and the grid is supplying 2.8kW. At 20h55 the PV is 0, Batt SOC is 100%, load is 760W and the grid supplies 860W.

Now consider the above explanation based on the following Timers being set:

Timer 1 - 01h00 to 05h00 discharge to 65% SOC of Batt or use PV with Grid Present to Support Load

Timer 2 - 05h00 to 09h00 charge Batt from PV or Grid to 100%

Timer 3 - 09h00 to 13h00 discharge to 65% SOC of Batt or use PV with Grid Present to support Load

Timer 4 - 13h00 to 17h00 discharge to 65% SOC of Batt or use PV with Grid Present to support Load

Timer 5 - 17h00 to 21h00 charge Batt from PV or Grid to 100%

Timer 6 - 21h00 to 01h00 discharge to 65% SOC of Batt or use PV with Grid Present to support Load

The system only seems to be conforming to half the configuration. It is not using either the PV or the Battery when the Grid is present to support the loads.

I have also included a graph from today, which is pretty much showing the same situation, with the graphical display.

Does anyone have any idea as to how this can be resolved. I have sent an email to Sunsynk Technical Support but have not received any feedback as yet.

Below are the screen shots from today, which shows the same situation. As well as a screen shot from the neighbor's system indicating that there is PV being produced by the panels even though it is raining and overcast

This is the neighbor's system indicating that there is PV available

Hi Guys, just wanted to provide feedback on the problem that I experienced on one of my plants. In a nutshell the system was not reporting any faults and seemed to be working great, especially during load shedding. However when there was Grid available the system would not utilize the power available from PV to support the loads and neither would the system discharge the battery to the predefined SOC %. I checked and rechecked the settings and compared them to my other sites which were the same and working great. I logged a support call with Sunsynk, and they had a look at the system and highlighted that the firmware on the inverter was an old release, so they arranged for the Firmware to be upgraded remotely, which was done this morning and now everything working again perfectly.
