Battery charging - temperature effects

I have noticed that the charge rate on my batteries (12kw 3 phase, 48v 10kwh Dyness batteries) has dropped from the 40 Amps set on the inverter to about 15 Amps although it does seem to go back to the 40 Amps after an hour or two. With a colder snap in the weather and the batteries in an unheated outhouse I am making an assumption that the BMS is throttling the charge rate unless they are at a particular temp?

Battery Management System

And yes - mine drops to 15 amps max at about 11C and then again at about 4-5C. If you are running at 1-3 centigrade then you will see low charge rates until the batteries warm up.
