Battery SOC up and down

I have been trying to discover the correct settings for my inverter in relation to communication with BMS.

Why I think settings are incorrect...

The reported input and output of my 20kWh batteries totals only around 14kWh.

I have had the BMS connected with RS485 and they behave smoothly and predictably, but only storing and delivering 12kWh (between SOC 100% to 15%)

Trying BMS connected via CAN looks hopeful when first connecting, as reported SOC immediately drops to a value which would leave space to store the full 20kWh, like from 77% to 55%. However it then goes haywire with SOC jumping up and down and switching charging on and off, so e.g.

reports SOC 14% starts charging,

a few seconds later SOC 37% stops charging

repeat until I worry that I will damage something and switch system off.

My installer declared bankruptcy a couple of months after the installation, so no joy there, but I think they were out of their depth anyway.

Any guidance would be very gratefully received.

My system, Sunsynk 5.5 inverter, Batteries Delong LFP 51200 - 10 x2

I didn't get anything. Did you add a ".uk" to the end of my email address? Many do but it's just ".co"
