Integrated vs additional PV lightning SPD (surge protection)?

The specification sheet for the 5K/8K hybrid parity (super) inverter states "PV Input Lightning Protection": "Integrated", but supplies no further details about the SPD.

What is the PV DC SPD specification, e.g. SPD info such as?:

  • SPD type according to EN 50539-11? Type 2? Type 1?

  • Lightning impulse current (10/350 µs) [DC+ -> PE/DC- -> PE] (I imp)

  • Voltage protection level [(DC+/DC-) -> PE] (UP)

Is it recommended to still add seperate lighting surge protector devices on the PV DC input before the inverter, e.g. Dehn Combo CL1+2 SPDs? (https://www.dehn-international.com/store/p/en-DE/F404725/dehncombo), or is this adding unnecessary cost? I ask because Johannesburg is a high intensity lighting region.

Above is our internal Document on Sunsynk protection devices, you can use similar specifications. it recommended to still add separate lighting surge protector devices on the PV DC
