Brand new Solar/Battery install... Please help!
Hi everyone, brand new to the forum and to solar in general. I spent a long time researching Solar equipment and settled on Sunsynk after reading reviews and watching Youtube videos. I have to say I'm a little unimpressed with the app, it isn't at all user friendly and unless you're an installer or expert in Solar it feels like a minefield. My installer says they've spoken to Sunsynk tech support during install but i'm not convinced and i've had constant problems with them from start to finish. Having spent so much money I wanted to satisfy myself that the countless settings on the App are correct and aligned to my requirements. I've read a few threads but can't find anything clear and similar to my setup.
I'll post my current settings below.
My setup is a 3.8kw solar aray
5kwh hybriud battery
5kw inverter
I have a hybrid car so have joined Octopus Go (00:30-16:30 off peak charging)
I'd like the battery to be fully charged when I wake in the morning ideally, my panels are on the back of my house so don't really start generating energy until around 12pm.
I'd really like to limit how much my battery is charged from the grid outside of the Off peak window, if at all. Obviously I may need to teak settings in the summer when the panels are working effectively.
Any help would be really really appreciated! Thank you in advance
Mike

I thought the same. It’s not clearly explained but works well in practice. So select time slot one for your time. Make sure this is selected. Then make sure that the start time is as you want ( mine is 3am ), then set time slot 1’s SOC to 85%. To set an end time set time slots 2 time to start at X that’ll be your stop charge time for time slot 1. I have mine at 3am, then time slot 2 starts at 6:30am - that’ll mean it’ll charge to 85% from 3-6:30. As long as your charge times are in your cheaper rate you’ll get the battery charged to use throughout the day at a fraction of the cost It appears your settings are almost there looking at the pictures posted
