ST Electrical used two 5.12kWh Sunsynk Elite batteries in parallel to create a compact 10.24kWh storage system tailored to a limited UK installation space.
Location
United Kingdom
Overview
ST Electrical installed the UK's first parallel Sunsynk Elite configuration, combining two 5.12kWh batteries to provide 10.24kWh of storage in the customer's preferred limited installation space.
Installation partner
ST Electrical
An electrical contracting business specialising in solar PV, battery storage, renewables and general electrical work, with previous experience installing Sunsynk systems.
The challenge
The customer needed a substantial amount of battery storage and a flexible system that could make good use of their solar power, while fitting into a specific and limited installation space.
The solution
ST Electrical specified a parallel Sunsynk Elite setup made up of two 5.12kWh batteries, providing 10.24kWh of total storage. Sunsynk's parallel capability allowed the installer to build around the customer's requirements rather than rely on a single unit. The system was installed, tested and commissioned without major issues, creating a neat and compact result in the customer's preferred location. This was the first installation of this particular Elite configuration in the UK.

We're always looking at new technology and ways of giving customers better energy solutions, so working with systems like Sunsynk is something we really enjoy.
It was decided that a parallel Elite setup was the right solution. It gave the extra capacity that was needed while still keeping the installation neat and compact.
There's always a bit more involved when you're working with a parallel system, but Sunsynk gave us the flexibility we needed and we were able to get everything set up and commissioned without any major issues.
As an installer, you want equipment that makes sense when you're standing in front of it on site. The Elite is well laid out and once you've got your head around the configuration, the installation and commissioning process was quite smooth.
For us, the best part is seeing the system working as it should once you've finished the installation. You spend the time installing it, testing it and commissioning it, so it's always satisfying when you hand it over and the customer is happy.
