A solar battery transforms a standard solar PV system into a true energy storage solution. Instead of exporting surplus electricity to the grid for a fraction of its value, a solar battery stores it for use after dark, during peak tariff periods, or when the grid fails.
Sunsynk's battery range is built exclusively on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry — the safest, most stable lithium chemistry available. LiFePO4 batteries do not suffer from thermal runaway, maintain performance over thousands of cycles, and retain usable capacity for ten years or more under normal residential use.
The Sunsynk battery range covers two product families: low-voltage (48V) units from 5.1kWh to 10.2kWh, scalable up to 81.6kWh; and high-voltage stacks for larger commercial and industrial storage requirements.
All Sunsynk batteries are IP65-rated, ship with an integrated BMS, communicate natively with Sunsynk inverters, and carry a 10-year product warranty as standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries are the preferred choice for solar storage. They offer a long cycle life (typically 4,000–6,000+ cycles), excellent safety characteristics, a wide operating temperature range, and high depth-of-discharge compared to older lead-acid technology. All Sunsynk batteries use LiFePO₄ chemistry.
The number of batteries depends on your daily energy consumption and how many hours of backup or self-sufficiency you need. As a starting point, calculate your average daily usage in kWh and divide by the usable capacity of a single battery unit. Sunsynk's sizing tool and certified installers can help you determine the right configuration.
Low voltage batteries (typically 48 V) are cost-effective, widely compatible, and well-suited for smaller residential systems. High voltage batteries (100 V+) can be connected in series for greater capacity and efficiency, resulting in lower current and reduced cable losses — ideal for larger residential and commercial installations. Sunsynk offers both ranges.
Runtime depends on battery capacity and your power draw. For example, a 5.12 kWh battery powering an average load of 500 W will last roughly 8–10 hours. Sunsynk's monitoring app lets you track state-of-charge in real time so you always know how much energy is available.
Yes, Sunsynk batteries are designed to be modular and scalable. You can add battery units to your existing setup (up to the maximum supported by your inverter model) without replacing any existing hardware. This makes it easy to start small and expand as your energy needs grow.
